Our Commitment to Privacy
Teller is built with privacy as its core principle. Your financial data is sensitive, and we believe you should have complete control over it. That's why Teller processes everything locally on your device.
Data Collection
We do not collect your financial data. Teller is designed to work entirely offline. Your bank statements, transactions, and financial information never leave your computer.
- No cloud storage of your financial data
- No tracking or analytics of your transactions
- No telemetry or usage monitoring
- All parsing happens locally on your Mac
Account Information
If you create an account for Teller Pro, we collect only your email address for authentication and subscription management purposes. This information is stored securely and never shared with third parties.
Local Processing
All bank statement parsing, transaction categorization, and data analysis happens locally on your Mac. Your PDF files are read directly from your disk, processed in memory, and stored in a local database that only you can access.
Optional AI Features (Pro)
Teller Pro offers optional AI-powered categorization. When you enable this feature:
- You'll see a clear consent dialog explaining what data is sent
- Only transaction descriptions are sent for categorization (not amounts, dates, or account info)
- Data is processed by our AI provider and not permanently stored
- You can disable AI mode anytime and return to fully local processing
Updates
When you check for updates, Teller connects to our update server to check for new releases. This is a standard HTTPS request that does not transmit any personal or financial data.
